Vox Americanus (the "Service") is operated by Lessin Tech Co ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Vox Americanus is a real-name public forum for verified Americans. Every member verifies a US driver's license through our identity-verification provider and posts under the legal name on that license. The purpose of the Service is to provide a space where real Americans with valid government ID can speak with one another under their real identities — without bots, anonymous accounts, or foreign interference. The Service is intended only for individuals who can lawfully verify a valid US driver's license.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to verify a valid US driver's license. Each person may hold one account. We use a one-way cryptographic fingerprint of your license to enforce this and may refuse, remove, or merge accounts at our sole discretion.
We may modify, add, remove, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the Service — including features, content, pricing, eligibility rules, and these Terms — at any time, for any reason or no reason, and without prior notice or any liability to you. We are not obligated to maintain, store, back up, or return any content or data. Continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of that change. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically; the current version always governs.
We may suspend, restrict, deactivate, or permanently terminate your account and remove any content at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, and at our sole discretion, including where we believe doing so protects the Service, other members, or us. You have no right to continued access, and we have no obligation to explain or justify any such action. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your settings.
You are solely responsible for everything you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Service, in any media. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license. We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, moderate, or remove any content for any reason.
Strong opinions and hard arguments are welcome. You agree not to post unlawful content, true threats, targeted harassment, doxxing, spam, malware, or content that infringes others' rights, and not to impersonate others, attempt to create multiple accounts, scrape, or interfere with the Service. We are the sole judge of whether content or conduct violates these Terms.
Identity verification is performed by a third-party provider (Stripe Identity). We do not retain your driver's license image or your license number. We retain only the legal name and state shown on the license (your public identity) and a one-way cryptographic hash used to prevent duplicate accounts. See our Privacy Policy for details. Your use of the verification provider is also subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any content is accurate or reliable. Verification reduces but does not guarantee the authenticity of any member or statement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or content, arising out of or relating to the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute that is not otherwise resolved.
