It's a bill that just passed the house to drop the whole twice-annual daylight-savings time shift. Others point to, among other data, health (e.g., the SADs) and safety (e.g., traffic fatalities) concerns associated with reduced daylight hours during the winter months in which forcing a universal time shift partially solves these issues. Others still think the entire concept of timezones is silly. China, for example, has one timezone for the entire country. I think there's a fun populist v. technocrat v. robot discussion here as its policy that affects everyone and—so far as I know—it has nothing to do with identity politics.
